Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements established by NCODA. Additional requirements may apply.

Be an active NCODA member in good standing

Have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in oncology
3
Demonstrate sustained involvement with NCODA and its mission
4
Show meaningful contributions to practice, patient care, education, leadership, mentorship, research, advocacy, or service

Demonstrate professional conduct consistent with NCODA's values
6
Meet the required length of NCODA membership and engagement criteria
7
Submit a complete application and all required supporting materials

What does FNCODA stand for?

No. It's a professional recognition designation rather than a clinical certification, acknowledging sustained contributions and impact.
Do I need to be a clinician to apply?
No. The designation recognizes qualified members across the multidisciplinary oncology community who meet eligibility requirements.
Do I need experience in every recognition area?
No. Applicants are evaluated on the overall depth, consistency, and impact of their contributions, not every category.
Can someone nominate me?
Yes — candidates can be nominated or self-nominate, but must then complete an application documenting their activities and eligibility.
Can I use the credential right after applying?
No. The credential may only be used after formal approval and notification from NCODA.
Is the designation permanent?
Yes, it's a lifelong distinction. NCODA may revoke it in cases of serious professional or ethical misconduct.
When will new Fellows be recognized?
According to the published program timeline, with formal recognition at the annual NCODA Fall Summit.
