ELIGIBILITY
Do You Qualify?
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements established by NCODA.

Be an active NCODA member in good standing

Have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in oncology

Submit a complete application and all required supporting materials

Demonstrate professional conduct consistent with NCODA's values
Show meaningful contributions to practice, patient care, education, leadership, mentorship, research, advocacy, or service

Demonstrate sustained involvement with NCODA and its mission

Have at least 5 years of NCODA membership and meet established engagement criteria.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Open to the Full Oncology Care Team
Nominate them for consideration for the FNCODA designation. Nominees will be invited to complete the required application.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does FNCODA stand for?
Fellow of NCODA — a professional designation recognizing sustained leadership, service, engagement, and contributions to NCODA's mission.
Is FNCODA a certification?
No. It's a professional recognition designation rather than a clinical certification, acknowledging sustained contributions and impact.
Do I need to be a clinician to apply?
No. The designation recognizes qualified members across the multidisciplinary oncology community who meet eligibility requirements.
Do I need experience in every recognition area?
No. Applicants are evaluated on the overall depth, consistency, and impact of their contributions, not every category.
Can someone nominate me?
Yes — candidates can be nominated or self-nominate, but must then complete an application documenting their activities and eligibility.
Can I use the credential right after applying?
No. The credential may only be used after formal approval and notification from NCODA.
Is the designation permanent?
Once awarded, FNCODA status does not need to be renewed through a new application. Fellows are expected to remain actively engaged with NCODA and continue meeting professional and membership standards.
When will new Fellows be recognized?
According to the published program timeline, with formal recognition at the annual NCODA Fall Summit.
Is FNCODA the same as the NCODA Fellowship Program?
No. Fellow of NCODA (FNCODA) is a professional recognition designation for experienced oncology professionals and is separate from NCODA’s postgraduate Fellowship Program.
